Agile methodology is a form of software methodology
that seeks an end to traditional (old school?) methodologies such as
the waterfall method and helps teams execute changes incrementally
The aim of this course is to take the students through a well-structured
typical week in a startup heavily revolved around the agile setup.
The course is aimed at
practicality and running
the students through a single cycle of an agile team: sprint planning, execution,
daily standups, sprint deliverable and sprint retrospective.

Arun Sharma: Social Challenges in Africa and Some Potential Routes to Solve Them
Arun founded Infinite Potential Consulting GmbH (IPC) in 2013 to build on his extensive global experience including work in the education, enterprise development, entrepreneurship, social enterprise and IT sectors. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo (Canada) and a Master’s in Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge (UK).
|Charlotte de Ridder: Planning out your career and impact
Charlotte is the Co-founder of Yusudi, an experiential life skills development organization that has most of its impact in Kenya. She is a graduate in Management and also a certified New Ventures Leader from MIT and has taught herself how to code, design, sell, and lead teams.
|DK Osseo-Asare: Design Thinking and Making
DK Osseo-Asare is the founding principal at Low Design Office (LOWDO), an architecture studio based in Austin, Texas and Tema, Ghana. He is a Fulbright scholar, TED global fellow, design fellow at the Kokrobitey Institute and director of makerspace at Impact Hub Accra. He is also a lecturer in design at Ashesi University’s department of engineering. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering design and a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University for work in kinetic systems and network power.
| Yabebal Fantaye (PhD): Big Data
Yabebal is the ARETE´ Junior Research Chair in Applied Statistical Methods, Cosmology and Big Data at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) Research Center in South Africa. Dr Fantaye did a BSc degree in Physics and Mathematics at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, completed his Honours and Master’s degree at the University of Cape Town and for his PhD he went to the school for advanced studies (SISSA) in Trieste, Italy.
|Manny Acquah: Coding and commercial software development
Manny is a seasoned software developer and technology enthusiast. He is currently CTO at 360Living in Berlin and is also the organizer of A-Better-Africa-With-Tech (ABAWT) in Berlin. Manny has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Ashesi University and a Master’s in Information Technology Management form the University of Bradford.
|Ayorkor Korsah (PhD): AI and Machine Learning
Ayorkor is currently the Head of Computer Science Department at Ashesi University. Her academic interests are related to the intersection of algorithm design, artificial intelligence, and robotics. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science modified with Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering from Dartmouth College, USA
As well as a Ph.D. in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.
|Sena Agyepong (PhD): Entrepreneurship and Business Management
Sena Agbodjah Agyepong is currently a faculty member at the Business Administration Department of Ashesi University. With a background in Construction Management, Sena has in the past 4 years been engaged at different points teaching and training entrepreneurs. Sena holds a Ph.D. in Building Technology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
Anthony Spio: Entrepreneurship and Business Management
Anthony Spio is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Business Administration Department at Ashesi University. He has over 20 years of progressive and responsible business management, marketing strategy development, brand management and brand communication development experience in industry and holds an MSc. International Marketing, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.
